The villages of Hastings-On-Hudson, Dobbs Ferry, Irvington, Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow are some of the villages comprising the lower Hudson Valley, otherwise known as the "The Rivertowns." Ardsley, though inland, is an integral part of this community. They are rich in colonial heritage and are situated along the Hudson River, providing unsurpassed vistas. Historically interesting sites and buildings are spread throughout the area.
These villages offer a bucolic slice of small-town life along with close proximity to bustling Manhattan. Like other mature New York suburbs, they have winding tree lined residential streets, homes of many vintages, excellent schools, abundant shopping and a convenient commute.
Recreational facilities are leading attractions in The Rivertowns. Acres of parks and walking trails scattered throughout the villages offer a leisurely oasis to residents.
Area residents have long appreciated the dual pleasures of having the arts and culture of New York City practically at their doorstep, along with local cultural amenities that are the envy of much larger communities.
While The Rivertowns are still small villages at heart, they are only a step from the bustle of Manhattan.
